What is Grand Theft?
Grand theft is a felony offense in which the value of the stolen goods is more than $750. That means even shoplifting (felony shoplifting) may fall into this category.
The state classifies grand theft into three degrees. The value and the type of the stolen goods/property—such as whether it was a firearm, motor vehicle, farm animal, or even a citrus fruit—will be considered.
