Background
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Schwartz was an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, the third largest prosecutors’ office in the United States. In less than three years in the state Attorney’s Office, Mr. Schwartz was promoted to the highly coveted position in the Career Criminal Robbery Unit. There, in this select unit he prosecuted the most dangerous defendants that qualified to receive the toughest penalties due to their numerous prior criminal convictions. In addition to prosecuting hundreds of violent crimes, Mr. Schwartz prosecuted numerous homicides, home invasions, armed robberies, drug trafficking cases, as well as complicated white-collar crimes. After leaving the State Attorney’s Office, Mr. Schwartz worked a boutique civil litigation firm in South Florida where he focused his practice on representing corporate clients in business litigation. Since 2002, Mr. Schwartz has dedicated his practice in the area of criminal defense.
